USF also has gotten great production from Correa, who has exploded on the college scene in his first season as a Bull. The Santiago, Chile native has four top-10 finishes this season and worked his way to a tie for ninth place in brave fashion last weekend.
Correa had been battling the flu for a week leading up to the Irish Creek Collegiate and didn’t play 18 holes until the practice round.
“I was worried about his stamina and that 36-hole Saturday carrying his clubs, and by the end it looked like he was mentally and physically exhausted,” Bradley said. “I was worried that maybe he wouldn’t have enough gas to play well in that final round.”
Correa put Bradley’s mind at ease by gutting out an even-par 71 that jumped him up six spots to a tie for ninth with Koepka.
“It showed me a lot about his courage and the mental strength he has because I think at that point it was just all mental for him,” Bradley said
